Carved Images

Carved Images

By John Sun

The Second Commandment:

“You shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;” (Exodus 20:4 NKJV)

Many so called Christians do not obey this Second Commandment.  They continue to make or to keep and worship carved images or statues both in their residences as well as in their churches.  They also believe that the carved images of Jesus they can wear on their necks will bring fortune to them as a “Lucky Charm”.

The important issue is that: Man should worship God in Spirit.  God is a Spirit, He lives in the hearts of true Christians, not in the carved idols, images or statues.

All TRUE Christians should OBEY the Words of God.  There is no exception for God’s Second Commandment.   All Christians should  examine their daily lives and to make sure they do not fool themselves by keeping these carved images on their necks or to offend God by worshiping those statues either in their churches or their homes.
