Score for Eternal Life?

Score for Eternal Life

God gave me this topic to write early this morning (January 6, 2007).  It shows a score for Eternal Life from “0” to “10” :

0                    I don’t believe there is a God at all.

1                    I used to be a Christian, however, I found God did not respond to my prayers despite the fact that I had prayed very hard day and night for the healing/recovery of my loved one who was suffering from a serious sickness.  In my total disappointment, I do not believe in God anymore.

2                All the religions teach “good things”.  I believe all religions will bring their members to heaven anyway.  I believe Jesus was merely a man.  He was the son of the carpenter – Joseph.  Perhaps He was a good man or a prophet, but not God.  God is God and God did not come to this world as a human being.

3                   I went to study in a Christian school when I was young.  I believe there is a God, however, I believe I have sufficient time to commit myself one day in the future, but not to-day.

4                    I was being baptized many years ago, however, for one reason or another, I did not attend church services, bible classes or even read bible at home.  I believe there is a God, but my own daily activities are more important to me.

5          I only need to believe in Jesus as the Son of God and I shall definitely go to heaven as Jesus promised that all His believers will go to heaven.  There is no exception.  It is not necessary for me to learn and to obey ALL His teachings.

6               I am a Born Again Christian. I believe Salvation was given by God to man free-of-charge, not for any good deeds man had performed.  I believe I shall definitely go to Heaven one day (regardless how good or how bad I had performed) as it is a free gift from God.

7                    I am not religious, however, I have been trying to do ‘only good deeds’ and “respect the law”.  I donated a lot of money to the charitable organizations and contributed a lot of my time to the poor, sick and elder.  I believe I will definitely go to heaven one day as I have been treating others good and I can sleep well at night.  I do not need to believe in any God – in particular.

8             I do believe there is one God and Jesus is the Son of God.  I believe that is enough for me to go to heaven.  In my daily life, I like to be my own master and I wish to do whatever I like as I do have confidence on myself and my own performances.

9              I believe in God, I do go to church regularly.  However, I do believe Money is more important to me because without it, I can do nothing.  Besides, most of the churches I used to go did ask their members for donations in one way or another.  Many times, I found the leaders of churches treating me differently depending on the amount of my donations.

10               I read the Holy Bible everyday as my daily bread.

I always try to memorize what Jesus taught His disciples about 1980 years ago.

I always humble myself in front of God and ask the Holy Spirit to stay inside my heart.

I always try my best to OBEY the Teachings of Jesus.

I do believe God created man to depend on Him, especially in defeating the Devil (Satan), not to depend on man’s own wisdom or power.

Whenever I find Satan (the Devil) challenges me or tempts me to do something harmful to myself or others, I immediately ask Jesus to help me – right away, without any delay.

Once I found I had done something contrary to what Jesus taught, I would immediately ask Jesus to forgive me and to wash me clean with His blood.

I always believe that I do not belong to this world (just as Jesus said both His disciples and Himself did not belong to this world).  I believe there is a better world waiting for me (God has been preparing for me) in the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21).

I am always prepared to meet Jesus face to face at any time in His Second coming; and I wait for Him to bring me my rewards and to clean all my tears as I entered into the Father’s House.

Eternal Life has been reserved for all those with a score of ‘10’ only.  Then, what about the others (i.e. those from ‘0’ to ‘9’)?  The answer is: “Subject to judgment by the Words Jesus had spoken” (John 12:47-48)
